One of the great novelties presented in the HxM Blast is the electronic initiation system option. This type of detonator enables greater control and use of detonations, generating gains in production, lower cost, lower vibrations, safety, reduction of environmental impacts, among others.
By using the electronic detonator it is possible to create various sub shots and in this way, load the holes taking into account the different lithologies. It is also possible to apply different charges of explosive in the same hole considering the lithological variation (Deck) and thus achieving an optimization of the blasting, with better adaptation to the desired granulometry and reduction of costs with explosives.
Another new feature is the ability to tie holes objectively with the tie editor (tying the holes through string) and The Timing and connection (tying holes through electronic detonator), where the user configures the detonation sequence of the holes, being able to apply different delay times for them.
After configuring your drilling and blasting plan, you can simulate and visualize the blasting in an animation integrated in MS3D, see here An example. Intuitively and completely customizable, the new HxM Blast becomes flexible and adapts to the unique parameters of each mine.
The possibility of simulating different fragmentation scenarios of the material to be dismantled is a great and powerful novelty in HxM Blast. Such an activity is very important because optimizing the fragmentation based on the requirements of the crusher, mill and transport allows to reduce energy and maintenance costs, increasing the efficiency of the mine. The method used to improve the fragmentation estimate is the Kuz-Ram model.
