O MinePlan Schedule Optimizer (MPSO) is the most complete tool for short, medium and long term sequencing. It stands out not only for its ease and excellent results in conventional sequencing, but also for opening up a horizon of new possibilities.
We would like to present the MultiPeriod, which allows the grouping of periods so that the calculations are made in global periods, and not unitary periods as traditionally performed, which results in the better results for the proposed objectives.
with the option MultiPeriod, the sequencing will visualize the following periods, such as, for example, guaranteeing enough material to feed the plant in the last periods and also certifying the correct time of mining for a given sterile region.
The function of MultiPeriod is located at the top of the MPSO, in the Schedule Calculation. By clicking on run, we open the window below, where we have the period-by-period schedule calculation as a default.

clicking on period, we have access to the configuration of the optimization windows. With Fixed Period Window, we can define a window of how many periods will be processed at a time. Unlike the conventional method, which checks each period individually, we can delimit in Window Size the periods that will have their restrictions analyzed together. In this way, the calculations will consider not only the current period, but also subsequent and previous periods.
