Prominas/MineSight Tips & Tricks: MineSight Atlas – Detailed control of your activities.

The design and scheduling of operations tasks are some of the most complex steps in sequencing and validating mining activities. In MineSight Atlas you can view and change your sequencing in real time, directly on the screen or through pre-defined restrictions, allowing the user to make his plan quickly and consequently have more time for analysis and improvement of his projects.

In this Tips & Tricks we will highlight some types of restrictions that will help users to have better control and optimization of planned activities, imposing start and end methods for each activity.

Finish By: This option allows you to define a date by which the activity must be completed by allocating resources in order to meet a deadline. The resource allocation option for setting a date can be programmed in two ways:

  • Automatic resource allocation: To access this option, right-click the activity in the Activity Gantt chart and click Finish By in the drop-down menu. This will activate the input field for date;
  • Configure resource allocation: To display this option select an activity on the Activity Gantt chart and then the icon Finish By located in the menu Activity, enabling the settings window.

For each activity, the Type of Restriction or Constraint Type which will set the execution priorities on each task.

Constraint Type: Restrictions can be applied to each activity and have seven different types of restrictions:

  • As Soon As Possible: The activity will be carried out as soon as possible. This is the default constraint from the project start date;
  • Finish No Earlier Than: The activity must end on or after a specific date. It is used to ensure that an activity does not end before a certain date.
  • Finish No Later Than: The activity must end on or before a specific date. It is used to ensure that an activity does not end after a date.
  • Must Finish On: The activity must end on a specific date;
  • Must Start On: The activity must start on a specific date;
  • Start No Earlier: The activity must start on or after a specific date. It is used to ensure that an activity does not start before a certain date.
  • Start No Later: The activity must start on or before a specified date. It is used to ensure that an activity does not start after a date.

Constraint Type can be configured in a simple way in the activity attribute itself, through a template or also in the tab Properties, where the deadlines for each constraint are defined.
