D&T Prominas | Connecting workflows: integration between HxGN MinePlan 3D and Leica Cyclone 3DR
The use of 3D laser survey technology in mining is constantly growing, and there is a need to process and transfer this data from the field to stakeholders as quickly as possible.
The integration of HxGN MinePlan 3D It's from Leica Cyclone 3DR connects the powerful point cloud capabilities of 3DR with MinePlan's comprehensive planning and engineering processes.

With this integration, users can import point cloud data, clean the data, create/update surfaces, send the surfaces directly to MinePlan 3D and seamlessly incorporate them into daily planning and/or workflows.
The video summarizes an example workflow:
- Import point cloud data from the field to the Cyclone 3DR.
- Clear point cloud data to eliminate noise or any data that is not needed, such as mobile equipment within the scan.
- Use of clean point cloud data to create digital terrain models or 3D mesh surfaces.
- Work with newly created surfaces in 3DR, for example creating stocks and corresponding custom reports estimating the amount of material in stock.
With just the click of a button, users can send surfaces to the MinePlan 3D and update processes, such as updating topography in block models, creating short-term or long-term cuts, visualizing mining progress, and much more.
With the ability to efficiently manage daily point cloud data from field data collection to daily planning and workflows, decisions can be made in near real-time, which translates into more efficient operations and increases production.
