Split – MinePlan Activity Scheduler (MPAS): Different possibilities to divide a mining plan activity.
Did you know that the MinePlan Activity Scheduler (MPAS) Do you have an option that makes it possible to divide activities already created in the Gantt, in a simple way, using different methods?
The option split, located in the menu Activity, allows an activity sequencing task, already created in your Gantt, be divided by different options:
- Split by Geometry: for activities associated with a geometry, it is possible to cut it, directly from the MPAS, through the tool auto slicer;
- manual split: for activities in which the duration is computed manually, these can be divided by a percentage or a specific date/time;
- Split Work: for activities associated with reservations, these can be divided by a given mass in tons, percentage or a specific date/time.
Figure 01 illustrates the location of the tool and a mining activity (mining) before being split via the option Split Work:

In Figure 02 you can see how practical it is to create the division. In the window of split, just click the '+' button to split an activity as many times as needed.

In this way, the activity, now divided, can be visualized in the table and in the graph of Gantt of MPAS.

O split is an important option to adapt your plan to the constant changes of short-term planning, allowing you to allocate different resources to an area after dividing it, for example.
